The Regional Conference will be held at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, on October 17. The State Conference is being held at the University of Iowa in Iowa City on October 27. Both conferences “give students, teachers and advisers from IHSPA member schools the opportunity to meet and gain insight from each other, as well as nationally-known speakers from secondary schools and the media,” says IHSPA.
As announced previously, iWebPress, Inc. and IHSPA have partnered to award a deserving member high school a copy of iWebPress Education Edition. Merit is based solely on the school’s performance in the Association’s spring contest, which was primarily a call of entries consisting of articles written in the past school year. The winner will be announced at the end of the conference.
Like with most national and regional high school publication conferences, the agenda is packed with sessions for newspaper, yearbook, and magazine staff and advisors, as well as faculty members. Though iWebPress, Inc. has been invited to exhibit at previous conferences, this is the first one at which company representatives will be lecturing.
