FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New York - February 1, 2005 - iWebPress, Inc. today officially released its content management system, iWebPress Education Edition, the only CMS on the market designed exclusively for publications in the educational industry.
iWebPress Education Edition, known also as iWebPress EE, manages all content related to a publication, from stories to pictures to people, and then instantly publishes it to web, creating a professional online edition of the print publication.
At the heart of iWebPress EE is a state-of-the-art CMS which allows users to log in from any location in the world, creating a virtual newsroom from where all content related to the publication can be accessed. Editors can now search through a database of staff interests, hobbies, and contact information, storing all of this in one place for the first time, enabling them to quickly find the right person for the right assignment. Writers and photographers log in to receive, work on, and submit assignments online, where they are then edited and approved for final publication. Advisors can choose to be as involved or removed as they would like, with different permission systems granting different levels of access.
Once all of the content in an issue is approved for publication, the powerful template engine used exclusively in iWebPress software instantly publishes it to web. This cutting edge technology allows a publication to create professional online editions without the need of any coding or programming skills, something that usually prevents school publications from putting out online editions. The output is completely customizable, meaning the end site can look like absolutely anything the customer wants. Content can also be exported directly into layout software with XML tags.
The software, though initially designed with a newspaper in mind, is flexible enough to mold to the workflow of any issue-based publication, such as a magazine. It will consolidate any publication's content, speed up its workflow, and allow staff members to focus on more important things than trivial management tasks that can now be automated, allowing in the end opportunity to create a better publication. Creating an online edition also greatly increases a publication's exposure and award opportunities.
iWebPress EE v1.2 is expected to be released in early fall of this year. iWebPress Professional Edition is still in beta and the company is currently running the software with select clients in a pilot program.
